Weighted
balls help improve fitness by
engaging the body's core stability muscles in
any exercise, in addition to engaging the
primary muscles of the arms or legs.
Strengthening the core muscles helps the body
develop more strength and power. Training
with weighted balls improves balance and
posture, too.
The FitBALL®
MedBall with Straps is available
in five different weights: 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10
pounds. This range allows physical therapy
patients who are recovering, and fitness
training clients who are new to medicine
balls, to start out with a lighter weight.
They can then master proper form and
technique for an exercise or series of
exercises and then progress to a heavier ball
to build strength and intensity. The wide
Velcro straps can be easily adjusted to
accommodate any size hand, and allow for a
more secure grip compared with a traditional
medicine ball. Clients and patients can then
perform a variety of exercises such as
overhead lifts and bending and twisting moves
without struggling to hold onto the ball.
The adjustable handles on the FitBALL® MedBall
with Straps gives it an advantage over a
medicine ball with molded handles. Not only
can the straps be adjusted to accommodate any
size hand, but users can adjust the straps to
make a larger single loop that lets them use
the FitBALL® MedBall with Straps to perform
the same exercises that they might do with a
kettlebell. Most exercises using kettlebells
are variations on Olympic lifts, but modified
for lower weight and more repetitions. Many
fitness clients like these exercises to train
the muscles for explosive movements over
extended time periods.
In addition, the handles and straps on the
FitBALL® MedBall with Straps can be removed
very simply using a common tool wrench, so
the ball can be used as a standard medicine
ball. If you or your clients want fitness or
physical therapy equipment that multitasks,
this is the medicine ball for you.
Fun Fit Tips:
The FitBALL® MedBall with Straps also can be
adjusted to fit around the legs for lower
body workouts. Here's how: Place the ball
between your legs just above the ankle bone
and wrap a strap around each ankle. The
weight adds intensity to leg lifts and
abdominal exercises. Try a lightweight
FitBALL® MedBall with Straps for lower body
physical therapy exercises.
