About this Class:
The objective of this course is to educate and train professional dog trainers in the safety, biomechanics and utilizations of the FitPAWS® canine conditioning equipment so they can incorporate these training tools into their services and classes for healthy dogs.
This is a hands-on, interactive course with intensive class-work learning and demonstrations on equipment. The participants will have the opportunity to try the exercises on a variety of dogs*. *No participant dogs are allowed for this course. We will be using local dogs for demonstrations.
Lunch, beverages and a light snack will be included each day.
Subjects covered:
- Basic canine anatomy of the musculoskeletal system
- Principles of balance and proprioception and the effects of aging and disease on the canine body
- Principles of core strength inclusive of the definition and requirements in varying ages of dogs
- Basic fitness exercise principles for canines
- Safety principles surrounding fitness equipment, and canine health & wellness
- Exercises using all of the FitPAWS Canine Conditioning Equipment for a variety of conditions including general, sports specific and wellness programs.

If you are attending the FitPAWS Canine Fitness for the Professional Dog Trainer Course, we highly recommend you stay at our host hotel, the Residence Inn, Marriott. The Meeting Place is just adjacent to the hotel so you can walk out of your hotel door and right into the classroom.

The Residence Inn is a full suite Marriott hotel featuring full kitchens, complimentary hot breakfast in the morning and complimentary wireless internet access. The Residence Inn is a pet friendly hotel and will waive the $150 pet fee for anyone in the group that stays with a dog. The hotel is in a great area of Longmont with incredible views of the Colorado Rockies. Nearby shopping and dining options are plentiful.

Full payment and a completed application are required to confirm your registration. Registration is complete once you have received notification that your application has been approved and your payment has been processed.

All cancellations must be in writing. If a cancellation is received prior to Jan. 31st, 2012, full refund minus $20 administration fee. If a cancellation is received prior to March 26, 2012, 50% refund. Cancellations received after March 26, 2012 will not receive any refund.
Waiver: I hereby waive and release Ball Dynamics International, the instructor, the business the course is held at, all owners of animals in attendance, and any of the above mentioned employees, owners, and agents from any and all liability of any nature for injury or damage which I may suffer, including specifically, but not without limitation, any injury or damage resulting from the action of any dog, and I expressly assume the risk of any such damage or injury while attending the FitPAWS Canine Fitness for the Professional Trainer course. In consideration of my attendance and participation in the course, I waive the right from any and all claims or claims by any member of my family, successors or heirs.
